It was beyond the contracted number of four 6 day holds.</div><div style="text-align: left;">* Arizona at Arizona State has a slight chance to be available to put the Wildcats into a three or even four way tie for the Pac-12 championship game. I know Colorado has been ratings gold, but its now a meaningless game with CU not being bowl eligible and Utah not in the running for the Pac-12 title game.</div><div style="text-align: left;">* With Oklahoma and Texas playing on Friday afternoon, the Big 12 schedule is a bit blah. I ended up removing the 12pm ACC Network window and placing West Virginia at Baylor on ESPN+ (the last Big 12 selection isn't always ESPN+ and FOX Sports could be behind ESPN's final selection). If there's an ACC Network noon window:</div><div style="text-align: left;"><ul style="text-align: left;"><li>Move Pitt-Duke to 12pm on ACCN.</li><li>Send North Carolina at NC State to 3:30pm on ACCN.</li><li>Place Iowa State at Kansas State to ABC at 12pm.</li><li>Put West Virginia at Baylor on ESPN2 at 7pm.</li></ul></div><div style="text-align: left;">12pm ABC: North Carolina at NC State</div><div style="text-align: left;">12pm FS1: Houston at UCF</div><div style="text-align: left;">3pm Pac-12: Colorado at Utah</div><div style="text-align: left;">3:30pm ABC: Kentucky at Louisville</div><div style="text-align: left;">3:30pm ESPN: Arizona at Arizona State</div><div>3:30pm ACCN: Pitt at Duke</div><div style="text-align: left;">7pm ESPN2: Iowa State at Kansas State</div><div style="text-align: left;">7pm FS1: Kansas at Cincinnati</div><div style="text-align: left;">8pm FOX: BYU at Oklahoma State</div><div style="text-align: left;"><div>8pm ACCN: Virginia Tech at Virginia</div><div>TBA ESPN+: West Virginia at Baylor</div><div><br /></div></div>Matt Sarzyniakhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07967516926073948559noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9137059844561398433.post-41427391586687745502023-11-13T09:05:00.022-05:002023-11-13T15:09:20.810-05:00CFB TV Confirmations for 2023 Week 13 (11/21/23-11/25/23)<div><span style="font-family: inherit;">This post will be updated as announcements come out for start times for Week 13 (11/21/23-11/25/23) from the (mostly) twelve day selection process that most TV networks adhere to. </span><span style="font-family: inherit;">Most conferences have the possibility of having all or part of their scheduled games held for a six day hold for the start time and/or the TV network. </span><span style="font-family: inherit;">The list of available TV windows are based on media websites, TV listings and press releases. Every listing service has a little different schedule for these networks. It is also possible that a window could be eliminated or the time of a window could shift slightly to accommodate a network's needs.</div><div><br /></div><div>Instead of cluttering up these posts even more, I'll try to keep track of the unique conference TV arrangements in a separate <a href="https://mattsarzsports.blogspot.com/2023/06/2023-conference-tv-requirements-six-day.html?m=1" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">post</a>. </div><div><br /></div>A few notes and considerations:<div><br /></div><div>* Last selections for the Pac-12 (as 12) for now, and further changes coming for the Big 12, Big Ten and SEC next season.</div><div>* I wrote a <a href="https://twitter.com/mattsarz/status/1723671992232972794" target="_blank">small series of posts on X</a> this morning regarding the Big 12 game count for ABC/ESPN. Have a read of it, please.</div><div>* The Pac-12 contract is a bit more strict about concurrent night games, but there's precedent from 2017 where FOX aired the Apple Cup at the same time as Notre Dame at Stanford. So its a possibility to flip "Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate" (the name given to the Georgia-Georgia Tech rivalry) and the Apple Cup.<br /><div>* California at UCLA was preselected as an ABC/ESPN game to be slotted anywhere on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU. Fresno State at San Diego State belongs to FOX Sports.</div><div>* NBC does not have a primetime Big Ten game on Saturday night. They have a night game on Friday already set</div><div>* To get to the AAC minimum of 40 across ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU, I had to choose three AAC games to air (pretty sure those NFL Network and ESPNEWS games can't be counted). Because of this, ACCN will only have two games.</div><div>* I'd prefer to go with Rutgers at Penn State at night, but Penn State has informed NBC that they do not intend to host November night games. I could see a compromise of Michigan at Maryland being on NBC at night with FOX taking Rutgers at Penn State for their noon game. I believe Michigan has told NBC they will not *host* November night games, but might be OK with being on the road for one. TV Guesses for 2023 Week 10 (10/31/23-11/4/23)<div><a href="https://mattsarzsports.com/Schedule/Weekly/football2023/10" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Here</a> are the games already set for television and/or webcast. <a href="https://mattsarzsports.com/Schedule/TVWindows/football2023" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Here</a> are the known available telecast windows. </div><div><br /></div><div>I have done my best to list what TV windows are out there. </div><div><br /></div><div>A few notes and considerations:</div><div><br /></div><div>* Games already set for time or TV:</div><div><ul style="text-align: left;"><li>Utah State at San Diego State (FOX Sports)</li><li>Notre Dame at Clemson (ABC)</li></ul></div><div>* CBS has a noon Big Ten selection along with their primetime SEC doubleheader. CBS gets the top two SEC choices for the week. Both SEC windows for CBS are exclusive, meaning that all SEC games on ESPN/2/U must air at 12pm.</div><div>* At the moment, I'm assuming CBS is not using a 6th appearance exception for Georgia. If they want to air the Georgia-Tennessee game on 11/18 or Ole Miss-Georgia on 11/11, they'll need to use one of their exceptions to air six games from a school. My understanding is they have four of the six appearance exceptions to use for the 15 year contract. By my count, they've used the exception once in the previous 14 seasons (2009 Florida) so it should be available to use again.</div><div>* In terms of top selections for conferences who split their rights between multiple networks, I gave CBS top Big Ten choice along with their weekly top choice in the SEC. Top Pac-12 choice went to ABC/ESPN and top Big 12 choice went to FOX.</div><div>* FOX Sports' primetime choices may end up being able to be elevated from their pay TV platforms up one level depending on the need for Game 7 of the World Series. I have set it up that way. Same with the FS2 window at for 7pm ET. I'm assuming it could be on FS1 or FS2 and moved it to 8pm. FS1 may schedule a late evening window, but I'm assuming that it won't exist due to the flexibility needed.</div><div>* The MEAC has the possibility of a ESPNU game at either 12pm or 3:30pm ET.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Tuesday 10/31</b></div><div>7pm ESPNU: Northern Illinois at Central Michigan</div><div>7:30pm ESPN2: Buffalo at Toledo</div><div><u><br /></u></div><div><b>Wednesday 11/1</b></div><div>7pm ESPN2: Ball State at Bowling Green</div><div>7:30pm ESPNU: Kent State at Akron</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Saturday 11/4</b></div>12pm ABC: Notre Dame at Clemson<div>12pm CBS: Ohio State at Rutgers</div><div>12pm FOX: Oklahoma at Oklahoma State</div><div>12pm ESPN: Texas A&M at Ole Miss<br />12pm ESPN2: Arkansas at Florida<br />12pm FS1: UCF at Cincinnati</div><div>12pm BTN: Wisconsin at Indiana<br />12pm BTN: Nebraska at Michigan State<br />12pm ESPNU: UConn at Tennessee</div><div>12pm SECN: Auburn at Vanderbilt</div><div>2pm CW: Georgia Tech at Virginia</div><div>2pm Pac-12: Arizona State at Utah<br /><div>3:30pm ABC: Kansas State at Texas</div>3:30pm CBS: Missouri at Georgia</div><div>3:30pm FOX: Penn State at Maryland</div>3:30pm ESPN: BYU at West Virginia<br />3:30pm ESPN2: Tulane at East Carolina<br />3:30pm FS1: California at Oregon<br />3:30pm BTN: Illinois at Minnesota<br />3:30pm ESPNU: Norfolk State at North Carolina Central<br />3:30pm ACCN: Miami (FL) at NC State<br /><div>3:30pm Peacock: Iowa vs. Northwestern<br />4pm SECN: Jacksonville State at South Carolina</div>5:30pm Pac-12: Stanford at Washington State<div>7pm ESPN: Florida State at Pitt<div>7pm ESPN2: James Madison at Georgia State</div><div>7pm NFLN: SMU at Rice</div><div>7:30pm ABC: Washington at USC</div><div>7:30pm CBS: LSU at Alabama<br /></div><div>7:30pm NBC: Purdue at Michigan</div><div>7:30pm ESPNU: Georgia Southern at Texas State</div><div>7:30pm SECN: Kentucky at Mississippi State<br /><div>8pm FOX/FS1: Kansas at Iowa State</div><div></div><div>8pm FS1/FS2: Utah State at San Diego State</div>8pm ACCN: Virginia Tech at Louisville<br /><div>10pm ESPN: Oregon State at Colorado</div><div>10:30pm Pac-12: UCLA at Arizona</div><div><div><br /></div></div><div><u>Streaming</u></div><div>Charlotte at Tulsa</div><div>Florida Atlantic at UAB</div><div>Navy at Temple</div><div>UTSA at North Texas</div><div>South Florida at Memphis</div><div>Houston at Baylor</div></div></div><div>Kennesaw State at Sam Houston</div><div>Middle Tennessee at NM State</div><div>WKU at UTEP</div><div>Marshall at App State</div><div>Coastal Carolina at Old Dominion</div><div>ULM at Southern Miss</div><div>Louisiana at Arkansas State</div><div>Merrimack at UMass</div>Matt Sarzyniakhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07967516926073948559noreply@blogger.com14tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9137059844561398433.post-9076839477861903722023-10-16T07:20:00.024-04:002023-10-22T08:03:25.304-04:00CFB TV Confirmations for 2023 Week 9 (10/28/23)<div><span style="font-family: inherit;">This post will be updated as announcements come out for start times for 10/28/23 from the (mostly) twelve day selection process that most TV networks adhere to. </span><span style="font-family: inherit;">Most conferences have the possibility of having all or part of their scheduled games held for a six day hold for the start time and/or the TV network. </span><span style="font-family: inherit;">The list of available TV windows are based on media websites, TV listings and press releases. The 3:30pm game is the top choice for the conference, but ESPN gets a pair of selections before CBS chooses their 12pm game.</div><div style="text-align: left;">* NBC's Big Ten night game moves up to 3:30pm again due to a Notre Dame night game. They also have a noon Peacock exclusive.</div><div style="text-align: left;">* ESPN does not have a late evening window. They have a Top Rank boxing card instead.
