I think the only choice involves the kickoff time. What is the appropriate time to kick off the game in Pullman and can that kickoff time accomodate a telecast.

They've been able to open up alternate feeds of FSN NW before so that the Mariners and WSU could coexist. Last year the game against Hawai'i was on an alternate channel on DirecTV and on digital subchannels in most of WA state, while the M's were on FSN.Matt Sarzyniakhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07967516926073948559noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9137059844561398433.post-49222006167356521432010-06-02T20:47:50.514-04:002010-06-02T20:47:50.514-04:00So for the USC-WSU game, who has first pick on TV ...So for the USC-WSU game, who has first pick on TV rights? Is it WSU/FSN-NW since they're the home team? Could FS-West televise back to LA without needing to consult with WSU?

I seem to recall a similar situation last year with UCLA at WSU where FSN-NW because it was showing Washington at Oregon State, FS-West was showing Stanford at USC, and Prime Ticket simply passed because of the potential of poor ratings since both teams were just plain awful. (I'm sure the UCLA faithful loved Prime Ticket's decision.) The game ended up on FCS.

Without knowing Fox Sports Net national clearances for that day and unless Big Fox has their say in rearranging the MLB TV schedule, FSN-NW has Mariners at Rays at 4:00 PT that day, so they're unlikely unless it's a 12:30 kickoff. Prime Ticket has commitments to Chivas USA soccer at 1:00 PT and Dodgers at Diamondbacks at 5:00 PT (Big Fox permitting), so they appear to be booked up. FS-West is currently available as White Sox at Angels is penciled in for KCOP, so they could televise the USC-WSU game.

My guess: WSU will have kickoff at 2:00 PT (likely kickoff time based on 2009), and FS-West will televise back to LA, with FCS picking up the feed. FSN-NW will open up a second channel to show the FS-West broadcast.Beach949https://www.blogger.com/profile/06516337632015225487noreply@blogger.com
