CFB TV Confirmations for 2017 Week 10 (10/31/17 - 11/4/17)

This post will be updated as announcements come out for start times for 10/31 - 11/4 from the twelve day selection process that most TV networks adhere to.  Please understand that games can be held until next Sunday if a broadcaster wants to wait on the results of the Week Nine games.  Most conferences have the possibility of having all or part of their games held for a six day hold of the start time.

The list of available TV windows are based on media websites, TV listings and press releases.  They can change based on the needs of the broadcaster or the conference.

Here's what I guessed based on the available openings (they'll prove to be incorrect) and here is the current schedule for the week as several FBS games do have their time & television/webcast assignments already accounted for.

  1. Although ratings for FS1 was probably a significant consideration, I think FOX was also getting into a game count issue for the rest of November as well. After taking two games on Nov 4, if I have counted correctly, they only have four Saturday selections left for the last three weeks of the season, one of which will be on FS1 (late night window). Had they put Bedlam on FOX, I believe they would have been forced to put each of their other three remaining selections on FOX. They may have concluded that the best game this week was a better alternative that what they might get over the next few weeks.

Once you conclude that a Pac-12 game has to go on FOX, then you are left with OU-OSU, Michigan-Minnesota, and their other Big Ten game for primetime FOX, the FS1 afternoon slot, and the noon kickoff). They could believe that Michigan is better rating protection against LSU-Alabama. Or, they could need a few more games to meet a minimum broadcast network requirement for the Big Ten.

Another instance of where the low broadcast network minimums hurt the Big 12.
