CFB TV Guesses for 2024 Week 6 (10/5/24)

Here are the games already set for television and/or webcast. Here are the known available telecast windows.

I have done my best to list what TV windows are out there. Every listing service has a little different schedule for these networks. It is also possible that a window could be eliminated or the time of a window could shift slightly to accommodate a network's needs.

Instead of cluttering up these posts even more, I'll try to keep track of the unique conference TV arrangements in a separate post.

A few notes and considerations:
  • Games already set for time or TV network family, but not both:
    • Missouri at Texas A&M (12pm, ABC or ESPN)
    • Utah State at Boise State (TBA, FOX Sports)
    • Rutgers at Nebraska (12pm or mid-afternoon, TBA)
  • SEC TV window slotting:
    • Early afternoon
      • Missouri at Texas A&M
    • Mid-afternoon
      • Alabama at Vanderbilt
    • Evening
      • UCF at Florida
    • Flex between mid-afternoon or evening
      • Tennessee at Arkansas
      • Auburn at Georgia
      • Ole Miss at South Carolina
* FOX does not have a mid-afternoon game due to MLB postseason.  They will have an 11pm window and I think it will get used for the Big 12 and not the Big Ten as there's only one Big Ten game it could be used for (Michigan at Washington) and I suspect that this game is chosen earlier than FOX will be able to claim it.
* BTN will have a tripleheader.
* CBSSN has a 12pm window for the MAC.
* Besides the mid-afternoon MLB window for FOX, FS1 will also be missing a window and it appears it is at 7:30pm ET where a FS2 window exists.
* I gave NBC the top Big Ten choice and ESPN the top Big 12 choice.

  1. Are there any official rules when it comes to the Big Ten Pacific Time Zone teams and the noon ET slot (can't be home team, can't be road team, etc)? You have UCLA as the road team at noon on FOX.

I think Alabama-Vanderbilt is a better ABC game than Auburn-Georgia. Vanderbilt played Missouri tough, beat Virginia Tech, and since they are home they likely will be more competitive vs. Auburn who is at UGa.

    1. To my knowledge, there's no rule about not having the four west coast Big Ten schools play at noon ET. They just won't be hosting at that hour.

  2. Auburn vs Georgia is not the primetime game. SEC slate is meh, maybe Miami vs Cal as a long shot

    1. I did consider Miami-Cal. Some game has to be there though. Maybe flip the 330 & 730 guesses for ABC.

    1. Considered briefly but how is that any better than Georgia-Auburn? At the moment they kinda look the same.

  4. Appreciate the work. Like seeing it gamed out.

  5. Only 1 BTN noon ET kickoff? Any chance they have more? Or does Indiana having played a conference and no conference BTN game limit the choice to FS1 and an afternoon slot? Thanks!
