CFB TV Confirmations for 2018 Week 8 (10/20/18)

This post will be updated as announcements come out for start times for 10/20 from the twelve day selection process that most TV networks adhere to.  Please understand that games can be held until next Sunday if a broadcaster wants to wait on the results of the Week Seven games.  Most conferences have the possibility of having all or part of their games held for a six day hold of the start time.

The list of available TV windows are based on media websites, TV listings and press releases.  They can change based on the needs of the broadcaster or the conference.

Here's what I guessed based on the available openings (they will prove to be incorrect) and here is the current schedule for the week as several FBS games do have their time & television/webcast assignments already accounted for.

  1. These pre-selections confuse me. I get why FOX pre-selected Michigan-Michigan State, as there was a high likelihood it would be the best game of the week and they could market the game in their pre-season release and throughout the season (same with Texas-OU and Ohio State-Michigan). But what I don't understand is why ESPN would pre-select Penn St. at Indiana, which probably wasn't even the number two game of the week in the pre-season and didn't turn out to be. FOX did the same thing with Wisconsin-Iowa and Nebraska-Michigan either this year, and ESPN did it again on Nov 3 with Northwestern-Notre Dame (which isn't a bad selection, but I don't see how you could have concluded it was better than Michigan-Penn State back in the summer).
