CFB TV Confirmations for 2020 Week 8 (10/24/20)

This post will be updated as announcements come out for start times for 10/24 from the twelve day selection process that most TV networks adhere to. Most conferences have the possibility of having all or part of their games held for a six day hold of the start time.

The list of available TV windows are based on media websites, TV listings and press releases. They can change based on the needs of the broadcaster or the conference.

Here's what I guessed based on the available openings (they will prove to be incorrect), along with the games that have already been set.

Here's the deal - I don't really have a great handle as to the TV slots that are open as some networks aren't providing accurate listings by the time this post is written. What I'll do is list the windows that I've found and the games not yet set for TV, then add windows & reorder them by time as they're announced. That way you'll see the list of games set for TV along with the one(s) you're waiting on. Just don't be alarmed if network X isn't listed with any games here and you don't see any from that network for the games that have already been set.

  2. Since Boise State home games have to air on Fox or FS1 and since there's only 1 Fox spot left, you could safely slide Utah State at Boise State into the 11 PM FS1 slot.

Texas State at BYU seems almost a lock for that 10:15 PM ESPN slot.

I suspect the MW on CBS All Access to get a decent number of these MW games.

    1. Mountain West has rules regarding start times added into the new TV deal. 8pm local for CBS,7:45pm for FOX Sports.

Boise State, being on Mountain time, I don't think would be at 9pm local for a start time.

  3. FOX would've gotten better ratings if it aired Penn State-Indiana on FOX broadcast than Iowa State-Oklahoma State, two second choice schools in less populous states. Also, Ohio State and fans will more likely watch another Big Ten game than a Big 12 game. That can hurt their World Series ratings.

  4. I think they might want to prop up FS1 ratings that are a bit down.

I think the World Series is its own animal. At this point, if it's a World Series headed towards a sweep, choice of college football game lead-in might not matter.

    1. Relax. Looks like they are trying to finalize either the weeknight dates or entire season. I did find Wyoming at Nevada listed at 7pm ET for CBSSN.
