CFB TV Guesses for 2025 Week 4 (9/20/2025)

Here are the games already set for television and/or webcast. Here are the known available telecast windows.

I have done my best to list what TV windows are out there. Every listing service has a little different schedule for these networks. It is also possible that a window could be eliminated or the time of a window could shift slightly to accommodate a network's needs.

Instead of cluttering up these posts even more, I'll try to keep track of the unique conference TV arrangements in a separate post.

A few notes and considerations:

* CBS's Big Ten choice has already been made (Michigan at Nebraska).
* NBC will carry a pair of Big Ten games sandwiched around Purdue at Notre Dame.
* TNT will skip this week from their sublicensed Big 12 games.
* FS1 will have college football at 6pm and 9:30pm ET. No mid-afternoon game due to NASCAR Trucks and horse racing.
* Games set for time or TV, but not both
  • Georgia State at Vanderbilt (7:30pm, ESPN2 or ESPNU)
  • UTSA at Colorado State (TBA, FOX Sports)
  • All available SEC games will air either in mid-afternoon or evening time slots
* I gave FOX Sports the top Big 12 choice this week (UNC-UCF) and NBC the top remaining Big Ten choice. With the Big 12, I had ESPN taking the next two choices with the rest going to FOX Sports.
* There’s a good case to be made to flip Missouri-South Carolina & Florida-Miami (FL). I can see both games being scheduled for primetime with a six days decision on the final network and start time.
* Clemson, despite losing to LSU and struggling vs. Troy, has more value in the noon ET slot compared to other options.

If this is true, NBC could very well win the noon ET time slot. When has that ever happened?

I'll be surprised to see a Big 12 game in the Big Noon slot. I suspect it will be Indiana-Illinois with the BTN noon window going away.

Does the American still have a minimum guarantee for games on ABC? If they do, seems like Memphis-Arkansas at noon might be a way to get one of the required games in.

I think UCF-UNC would still win in the ratings game despite being a much worse game. Orlando is a huge media market and UNC still has national hype.

Still, I’m not too confident in the idea that FOX would allow NBC to air a top 15 matchup in that slot. In the past it’s been because of Notre Dame being in prime time and the NBC game was decidedly worse than what FOX was airing.

Good call. Yes, I believe they still do have that requirement. But seems like they passed up most of their good options. I guess they could wait until Nov for NAVY-USF. But strange they wouldn’t get it out of the way with Charlotte-UNC or OK-Temple

UNC and UCF draw average or worse

According to Matt, the American requirements are 40 games on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, or ESPNU with 20 of those appearing ABC, ESPN, or ESPN2. So theoretically no American regular season games need to appear on ABC. Last year only the championship and the ND @ Navy game appeared on ABC.

Yeah, I'm iffy re whether that requirement still exists. You'd think they'd have a game sitting there to air on Black Friday to help clear it, but they don't. I think enough membership changes have happened where they value Notre Dame-Navy, but not much else.

Yeah, I am not sure they even made the 40 last year. I was surprised that ESPN did not lower the pay out when UCF, Cincinnati, Houston, and then SMU left.
