CFB TV Guesses for 2024 Week 4 (9/21/24)

Here are the games already set for television and/or webcast. Here are the known available telecast windows.

I have done my best to list what TV windows are out there. Every listing service has a little different schedule for these networks. It is also possible that a window could be eliminated or the time of a window could shift slightly to accommodate a network's needs.

Instead of cluttering up these posts even more, I'll try to keep track of the unique conference TV arrangements in a separate post.

A few notes and considerations:
  • Games already set for time or TV network family, but not both:
    • Florida at Mississippi State (ABC or ESPN, 12pm)
    • North Carolina A&T at North Carolina Central (ESPN Networks, 7pm)
  • SEC game slotting is as follows:
    • Noon for ABC or ESPN: Florida at Mississippi State
    • Afternoon or evening:
      • Arkansas at Auburn
      • UCLA at LSU
      • Vanderbilt at Missouri
      • Tennessee at Oklahoma
    • Evening only: Akron at South Carolina
* I went with Miami (FL) at South Florida at noon on ABC to help fill requirements the American has for games on ABC, pushing Florida at Mississippi State to ESPN.
* For the Big Ten, USC at Michigan was chosen by CBS in advance of the season, which indicates that this game was the top choice of the conference this week.  After that, I placed Marshall at Ohio State on FOX and Iowa at Minnesota on NBC in that order.
* With the Big 12, I placed Utah at Oklahoma State on FOX as the conference's top choice this week, followed by Baylor at Colorado on ESPN in the late evening.  I'm assuming the latest a Big 12 game can start on TV remains 8:15pm local, which would be acceptable for Baylor at Colorado.
* Not pictured here is that Portland State at Boise State will start at 9:45pm ET on FS1. With a 7pm FS1 window, viewers should expect to see the game on FS2 to start.

12pm ABC: Miami (FL) at South Florida
12pm FOX: Marshall at Ohio State
12pm ESPN: Florida at Mississippi State
12pm ESPN2: Michigan State at Boston College

Can FOX run another game against CBS or NBC or are they only allowed one game in the noon time slot going forward (acknowledging they ran a game against CBS in Week 1)? Could they run Washington-Northwestern, for example, in prime time along with Ohio-State-Marshall at noon, or could they run Utah-Oklahoma St in the Big Noon slot and then run Ohio-State-Marshall at either 3:30 or prime time?
