CFB TV Confirmations for 2022 Week 13 (11/22/22 - 11/26/22)

This post will be updated as announcements come out for start times for 11/15/22 - 11/19/22 from the (mostly) twelve day selection process that most TV networks adhere to. Most conferences have the possibility of having all or part of their games held for a six day hold for the start time.

The list of available TV windows are based on media websites, TV listings and press releases. They can change based on the needs of the broadcaster or the conference.

Here's what I guessed based on the available openings (they will prove to be incorrect), along with the games that have already been set

There's also a handful of rules that both conferences and TV networks have put into their agreements which affect these selections, which are updated weekly and can be found here.

CFB TV Guesses for 2022 Week 13 (11/22/22 - 11/26/22)

Here are the games already set for television and/or webcast. Here are the known available telecast windows.

I have done my best to list what TV windows are out there. Every listing service has a little different schedule for these networks. It is also possible that a window could be eliminated or the time of a window could shift slightly to accommodate a network's needs.

Instead of cluttering up these posts even more, I'll try to keep track of the unique conference TV arrangements in a separate post.

A few notes and considerations:

Games with time or TV set, but not both
West Virginia at Oklahoma State (TBA, ESPN Networks)
Oregon at Oregon State (TBA, ESPN Networks)

* My counts have the following selections available for the Big Ten and Pac-12 for each network group.  These counts exclude games that have been preselected by the networks:
  • Big Ten: FOX - 0, ESPN - 1
  • Pac-12: FOX - 1, ESPN - 2
  • Big 12: ESPN can take up to three games already not selected
* FS1 does not have an early afternoon window due to the World Cup.  The listings for the network have windows at 4pm, 7:30pm and 11pm, but I could not find a use for the 11pm window.
* The War on I-4 (UCF at South Florida) looks like a mismatch on paper, but I think it will get the AAC its 3rd regular season game on ABC.
* I went Iron Bowl over LSU at Texas A&M for CBS's choice. I know that LSU has already won the west, so in both cases, the games are meaningless.  Because of that, went with the rivalry that's more likely to draw.
* It would not surprise me to see 1-2 of the SEC Network windows deleted to fill other windows on ESPN or ESPN2.  I ended up dropping the early afternoon SEC Network window and placed Clean Old Fashioned Hate (Georgia Tech at Georgia) on ESPN.

CFB TV Guesses for 11/19/22 Six Day Holds

Here's the openings.

It is already known that FOX has the choice in the Pac-12.  Since ABC got the top two Big Ten games, I gave FOX the top choice in the Big 12 and used it on Texas at Kansas.

I know there are two Big Ten games running concurrently on ABC and FOX, something both networks try to avoid.  I think this is a case where its each one doing what they have to do for themselves, especially since Wisconsin could have an outside shot at winning their division.

I think you'll see two Big Ten games run concurrently on BTN as well, either at 12pm or 3:30pm.  I went with this at 12pm.

I'm aware that the Mountain West has a 9:45pm ET start on FS1 and I know they don't have the overflow option for FS2 because it has a game starting at 9pm ET too. I think they'll stick to their original plan of 12pm, 3:30pm and 7pm ET on FS1.

11am ESPN2: Navy at UCF
12pm ABC: Ohio State at Maryland
12pm FOX: Texas at Kansas
12pm ESPN: Iowa at Minnesota
12pm FS1: Texas Tech at Iowa State
12pm BTN: Penn State at Rutgers
12pm BTN: Northwestern at Purdue
3:30pm ABC: Illinois at Michigan
3:30pm ESPN: Miami (FL) at Clemson
3:30pm FS1: Oklahoma State at Oklahoma
3:30pm BTN: Indiana at Michigan State
4pm FOX: Wisconsin at Nebraska
4pm ESPNU: Cincinnati at Temple
7pm ESPN: Tennessee at South Carolina
7pm FS1: Kansas State at West Virginia
7:30pm ABC: TCU at Baylor
7:30pm SECN: Ole Miss at Arkansas

CFB TV Guesses for 2022 Week 12 (11/15/22 - 11/19/22)

Here are the games already set for television and/or webcast. Here are the known available telecast windows.

I have done my best to list what TV windows are out there. Every listing service has a little different schedule for these networks. It is also possible that a window could be eliminated or the time of a window could shift slightly to accommodate a network's needs.

Instead of cluttering up these posts even more, I'll try to keep track of the unique conference TV arrangements in a separate post.

A few notes and considerations:

* Gave ESPN top Big Ten (top 2 for that one) and top Pac-12, then FOX top Big 12 (really top two there too).
* I'd expect more six day holds to be used.  Maybe all of the Big Ten again.  Definitely the top two from the Pac-12.  Maybe several games from the ACC.
* This post is going up before several decisions are made for the Pac-12 on the 11/12 games.  Could who picks first on 11/12 affect how I view the next couple weeks? Possibly, but there are two strong games on top that either network I imagine would want.  Also, there's some considerations as ESPN has access to the Civil War on 11/26 and FOX has UCLA's last Pac-12 opponent on Black Friday.
* Placed Tennessee at South Carolina at 12pm because it could be meaningless from a SEC championship perspective as long as Georgia wins next week vs. Mississippi State.
* Needed to find an AAC game to place on ABC so that they could fill three ABC slots over the course of the season, so Navy at UCF fits that bill.
* Couldn't find a need to use a late slot on FS1, so I converted it into a FS2 window for the Mountain West.
