CFB TV Guesses for 2026 Week 9 (10/29/2026-10/31/2026)

Here are the games already set for television and/or webcast. Here are the known available telecast windows.

I have done my best to list what TV windows are out there. Every listing service has a little different schedule for these networks. It is also possible that a window could be eliminated or the time of a window could shift slightly to accommodate a network's needs.

Instead of cluttering up these posts even more, I'll try to keep track of the unique conference TV arrangements and six day holds used in a separate post.

A few notes and considerations:

* I only have two telecast windows for FOX as this would be Game 7 of the World Series
* The mid-afternoon ABC window is confirmed for its SEC game
* Games set for time or TV, but not both
  • Notre Dame vs. Navy (12pm, ABC or ESPN)
  • Wisconsin at Iowa (TBA, between 12pm and 5pm)
  • Northwestern at Oregon (TBA, between 3pm and 8pm)
  • South Dakota at South Dakota State (TBA, ESPN linear)
  • Alabama State vs. Alabama A&M (3:30pm, ESPN linear or ESPN+)
  • SEC game slots
    • Early: Auburn at Ole Miss
    • Evening: Mississippi State at Texas
    • Afternoon or Evening: South Carolina at Oklahoma & Missouri at Arkansas
* I elected to not use the SECN early window since there was only one game available
* FOX can coexist with CBS or NBC for their Big Ten selections in limited cases, usually once per season.  I think this is a great case for FOX to do that with Ohio State at USC, especially if the possibility exists for it to lead into Game 7 of the World Series.  My order for the Big Ten was FOX, CBS and NBC.
* Saturday 10/17's chaos was an added wrench. This would have looked very different if several schools didn't lose.
* For the Big 12, I gave FOX top choice with Arizona State at BYU. Yep, I think they'll make the ask for the Cougars to host a 10am local time start and they'll agree. Their last 10am start was in 2023 when they hosted Oklahoma at that early start on ESPN. They also had an 11am local (1pm ET) start vs UCF last season on ESPN2.

I know the B1G usually does whatever they can to keep the two LA schools from playing at the same time, so it helps that UCLA has a non-con game to throw into that 11pm EDT BTN window. We here in Central Ohio were worried that Fox may try and keep the MLB crowd around (if there is a Game 7), and have the OSU/USC game at 11pm here.

If there is no Game 7, can Fox move the FS1 game over to big Fox, or would they just run regular programs?

Correct me if I'm wrong but FOX doesn't get the top pick every week this season and NBC gets the top pick at least a few times this season. NBC has yet to have an Ohio State game this season and this would seem to be the best opportunity for them. I find it hard to believe FOX would take the top pick a week when OSU/USC is the #1 pick when they knew they'd have to air it at a different time (especially opposite Florida/Georgia). Also, OSU/USC (their first ever Big Ten meeting) seems to be a pretty likely choice for NBC's top choice for the season behind FOX's top three and CBS's Oregon-Ohio State.

NBC already used their top pick on USC-Penn St.

NBC gets three top picks for the season. This year it took USC@Penn, OR@USC, and a third. Matt would know but I think there is a general sense that it is not this week. Fox backloaded their picks this year. Fox picks first in 7 of the 13 weeks.

The late night idea isn’t a terrible one, although I doubt it’ll happen here.

Only an idiot would choose USC-Penn State over Ohio State-USC. That's essentially choosing PSU over OSU. Especially considering USC-PSU is the same week as Georgia-Alabama. Not to mention NBC gets first pick more than one week.

It’s been confirmed that NBC used their first pick for Ohio State-USC. Whether that was a good idea is debatable, but that’s what happened.

Think you meant USC-Penn State.

Yes, I did. We know the first five picks. We know FOX had the 6th pick. You would think Ohio State - USC would have been the next best week to draft, unless they were staying away from the west coast start times. I tend to think we will get Big Ten games on FOX at noon and 3:30 (with Ohio State-USC at 3:30). I believe they did that a couple years ago with the Big Noon crew at the 3:30 game to a homecoming situation.

Who gets the 6th pick, FOX or CBS?

Unsure. It is generally known that FOX gets five of the first eleven picks, per Scott Dochterman of The Athletic. CBS and NBC split the remaining six of those 11.

I have gotten the sense since the Big Ten started airing on NBC that NBC Sports and its executives don't have as good a grasp of college sports like FOX and CBS does.

I think you’ll see Northwestern-Oregon and Washington-Nebraska flip, with the Oregon game at 3:30 and Nebraska at 7:15 (I know Nebraska really wants that to be a night game)
