CFB TV Confirmations for 2022 Week 11 (11/8/22 - 11/12/22)

This post will be updated as announcements come out for start times for 11/8/22 - 11/12/22 from the (mostly) twelve day selection process that most TV networks adhere to. Most conferences have the possibility of having all or part of their games held for a six day hold for the start time.

The list of available TV windows are based on media websites, TV listings and press releases. They can change based on the needs of the broadcaster or the conference.

Here's what I guessed based on the available openings (they will prove to be incorrect), along with the games that have already been set

There's also a handful of rules that both conferences and TV networks have put into their agreements which affect these selections, which are updated weekly and can be found here.

CFB TV Guesses for 2022 Week 11 (11/8/22 - 11/12/22)

Here are the games already set for television and/or webcast. Here are the known available telecast windows.

I have done my best to list what TV windows are out there. Every listing service has a little different schedule for these networks. It is also possible that a window could be eliminated or the time of a window could shift slightly to accommodate a network's needs.

Instead of cluttering up these posts even more, I'll try to keep track of the unique conference TV arrangements in a separate post.

A few notes and considerations:

* CBS has a SEC 12pm game.  When this happens, CBS picks 1st for 3:30pm and 4th for 12pm.  ESPN picks in between.  Many times, this results in a six day hold being used.
* I didn't have a need for the 10:30pm ESPN2 window.
* I think its possible to have 2 games on BTN at least in one of the two windows to save ESPN and FOX from using 2 or 3 selections for one week, though they might.
* This is also the first week where it requires approval of the Big Ten schools to play a night game.  Usually one school allows it per season.
* I gave FOX top Big Ten and Pac-12 choices.  ABC got the top Big 12 choice.
* Notre Dame vs. Navy fills one of the three required AAC ABC selections.

CFB TV Guesses for 2022 Week 10 (11/5/22)

I have done my best to list what TV windows are out there. Every listing service has a little different schedule for these networks. It is also possible that a window could be eliminated or the time of a window could shift slightly to accommodate a network's needs.

Instead of cluttering up these posts even more, I'll try to keep track of the unique conference TV arrangements in a separate post.

A few notes and considerations:

* BTN has a night game window this week, and I'm expecting it to be their last of the season, along with this being the last time ESPN's networks and FOX Sports can air a Big Ten game at night with no strings attached.  After 11/5, there's a set of conditions that need to be met for a Big Ten game to be played at night.  Most notably is that both teams had to agree to it in advance.
* I don't think BTN is planning for four games with two at 12pm, but I didn't have a great path to fit everything in.
* I'm putting the over/under number of conferences that will have a six day hold at 2.5 and preparing for the over to be hit.
* I have Wake Forest at NC State at 3:30pm on ESPN on merit of both schools being ranked, but I fear that you'll be able to flip it to a lesser network in favor of bigger brands.
* I know that I have both AAC ranked teams on ESPNU in their respective games, but I wouldn't be stunned to see one of their games on ABC at 3:30pm to use one of the conference's three required ABC games.  I know both are playing schools that have losing records, but if you think every is going to be watching Tennessee-Georgia, you can be creative with programming.
* I'm told the AAC can fill a couple NFLN slots and this might be the week to do so, especially now that the MAC is going to their mid-week schedule.
* I'm conflicted as to whether Texas at Kansas State or Texas Tech at TCU should be FOX's sole broadcast network window.  This particular Saturday would be the date of World Series Game 7, plus FOX also has the MLS Cup in mid-afternoon.  I could see FOX making the 7pm game flexible to FOX or FS1 in the event they have the bandwidth to air it on the broadcast network

Colorado State at Boise State (Time TBD, FOX Sports)
San Diego State at Fresno State (Time TBD, FOX Sports)
Arizona State at Colorado (Time TBD, ESPN/2/U)
Northwestern at Iowa (3pm or 3:30pm, TV TBD)

* No CBS selection as they selected Florida vs. Georgia in the spring.
* FOX announced that Ohio State at Penn State would be their 12pm game this past weekend.
* It is unclear how many games BTN will carry, but they are planning to carry two volleyball matches.  I'm going to assume one game window, but two games in that window.
* I think the 7pm ESPN2 window will get used this week and not get used for a McAfee-cast.
* For the third straight week, there will be no ACCN window at 12pm.
* Regardless of whether USC won or lost vs. Utah, I had the Arizona game pegged for Pac-12 Networks so that the Trojans can fulfill all of their Pac-12 Networks requirements.
* I know that SECN has three scheduled windows, but we saw a couple weeks ago where they dropped their noon window to get an extra game on ESPN.  So I decided the same situation could apply here to get Ole Miss at Texas A&M on ESPN.
* I dropped the NFL Network window as well.  There's not many games to be placed there.  I could see South Alabama at Arkansas State being put there if they do have a game.

CFB TV Guesses for 2022 Week 8 (10/22/22)

Here are the games already set for television and/or webcast. Here are the known available telecast windows.

I have done my best to list what TV windows are out there. Every listing service has a little different schedule for these networks. It is also possible that a window could be eliminated or the time of a window could shift slightly to accommodate a network's needs.

Instead of cluttering up these posts even more, I'll try to keep track of the unique conference TV arrangements in a separate post.

A few notes and considerations:

Games already selected for time or TV, but not both
Frenso State at New Mexico (FOX Sports, Time TBD)
Utah State at Wyoming (FOX Sports, Time TBD)
Indiana at Rutgers (TV TBD, 12pm ET)
Northwestern at Maryland (TV TBD, 3:30pm ET)
Purdue at Wisconsin (TV TBD, 3:30pm ET)
Minnesota at Penn State (TV TBD, 7:30pm ET)
Houston at Navy (ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU, 12pm ET)

* I could see another Pat McAfee telecast on ESPN2 at 7pm with the Montana at Sacramento State game on ESPN2 not starting until 11pm ET.  Plenty of time to use the ABC game in that case.  I'm going to delete it for now.
* FS1 listings have three TV windows, but FOX affiliates have been told that the NLCS game on this date (Game 4, so it will happen) will be simulcast on FS1.  This is also a date when both the ALCS and NLCS would be played, so the feeling that I get is that one FS1 window is guaranteed, either early in the afternoon or later, but not both. Because of that, I think the two Mountain West games will move over to FS2.  If FS1 weren't simulcasting the NLCS, then I'd assume all three windows are planned for.
* The last FS1 window is listed for 9:45pm, which also assures one of the two MW games.  MW games on FOX Sports must start no later than 7:45pm local time.  With both games being in the Mountain time zone, 9:45pm ET it is.
* Last thing on the MW games and if they get scheduled for FS2 instead: they can start the TV windows earlier instead of the 6:30pm and 9:45pm ET start times listed for them on FS1.
* BTN has a volleyball window scheduled for the evening.
* Just two ACCN windows again.  No 12pm ET game is currently listed.
* One Liberty game has to air on ESPN's linear TV networks (ESPN/2/U).  I went with the BYU game over the Virginia Tech game being played later in the year.

CFB TV Guesses for 2022 Week 7 (10/15/22)

Here are the games already set for television and/or webcast. Here are the known available telecast windows.

I have done my best to list what TV windows are out there. Every listing service has a little different schedule for these networks. It is also possible that a window could be eliminated or the time of a window could shift slightly to accommodate a network's needs.

Instead of cluttering up these posts even more, I'll try to keep track of the unique conference TV arrangements in a separate post.

A few notes and considerations:

Games where the start time or television is set, but not both
Minnesota at Illinois (TV TBD, 12pm)
Wisconsin at Michigan State (TV TBD, 3:30pm or 4pm)
Arkansas at BYU (ESPN Networks, Time TBD)
San Jose State at Fresno State (FOX Sports, Time TBD)

* FS1 has 3pm and 7pm NLDS windows planned, which takes out nearly all of their ability to show college football.  They do have an 11pm window.  Even though this date would be Game 4 of both series, they have to go under the assumption that games will be played this day instead of not.
* Speaking of that 11pm window, I think they'll have to adjust that by 15 minutes to start San Jose State at Fresno State at its latest available start time for FOX Sports (7:45pm local).
* BTN has a volleyball window planned for 4pm ET.  I know they dropped their planned volleyball window on 10/8 but I'm running under the assumption they'll stick to the schedule.
* It looks like there will be no 12pm ACC window and ESPN2 has dropped a previously listed late evening (10:30pm ET) window.
* I gave FOX top Big Ten choice and ABC received top Big 12 and PAC-12 choices.
