CFB TV Confirmations for 2022 Week 9 (10/29/22)

This post will be updated as announcements come out for start times for 10/29/22 from the twelve day selection process that most TV networks adhere to. Most conferences have the possibility of having all or part of their games held for a six day hold for the start time.

The list of available TV windows are based on media websites, TV listings and press releases. They can change based on the needs of the broadcaster or the conference.

Here's what I guessed based on the available openings (they will prove to be incorrect), along with the games that have already been set

There's also a handful of rules that both conferences and TV networks have put into their agreements which affect these selections, which are updated weekly and can be found here.

I don't know. They might since Oklahoma-Iowa State was selected as a FOX game back in the spring.

This is for Week 10 but does CBS still have the ability to do a double header with Georgia Tennessee and LSU Alabama?

Week 10 question:
Can CBS do a 230 and 7 pm window that day for Georgia Tennessee and LSU ALABAMA

CBS has already spent its night game for the 2022 season on Texas A&M-Alabama. If it wants a second one, like it did in 2011, they'll have to negotiate with ESPN for it. Back then, CBS gave up the right to pick 1st twice in 2012 to ESPN and other considerations.

This seems to me like odd usage of 6-day holds by ESPN. I get the Big 12 hold, given that at least one and possibly two of TCU, Kansas State and Oklahoma State will lose this weekend (and we don't even know whether ESPN or Fox held it, although I'm guessing ESPN). The American hold seems a bit like, "well, it's almost November and we haven't used one yet, so let just put a hold on everything", especially the hold on noon ESPN2 vs 3:30 ESPN+ kickoff for two games. I suspect Cincinnati-Central Florida is going to end up on ABC in any event, given the 3-game ABC requirement, so I'm not sure why they didn't just put Cincinnati-Central Florida and Notre Dame in the two ABC slots and not string everyone out for another week (except for the two Big 12 games).

I realize I may be asking a question for which the answer isn't known, but is your understanding that, when FOX and ESPN are drafting the selection orders before the season, they are doing it for every slot for the entire as opposed to for each week. For example, ABC could have drafted the second slot for 10/29 (which would have been known to be either Ohio State - Penn State or Michigan - Michigan State) before the first slot for 9/10 (presumably Wisconsin - Washington St) was selected. (Excluding the weeknight games and other special selections have presumably have different rules by conference).

That's my understanding. They draft the slots for the season.

By drafting the slots Santos the season, it basically sets a weekly order based on what you value each week.

I think there's supposed to be 2-3 more but I don't keep track of if/when they're supposed to occur.
